When Tru was 5 months old we bought a high chair which we have dutifully put him in for almost every meal since. At first it was great, he crammed in puffs and other first foods at an amazing rate. He also did well with us feeding him baby food in it, but once we moved past that his appetite seemed to disappear. The other night we sat down for dinner and I held him in my lap while jparks passed him bits of chicken, sausage, and potato. Turns out he ate most of the chicken breast all by himself. The next night he sat on jparks' lap while I fed him moroccan chicken, chickpeas, and couscous.

The next day I decided it was time to ditch the high chair since he was obviously enjoying being at the table and feeling included in the meal and replace it with a booster seat. Last night was the trial dinner with it and success!

That kid packed away so much fish that we had nothing left at the end of the meal. In fact, he even passed up pumpkin pie for more fish. I'm sure this phase of "I'll eat anything you put in front of me" will transition into a phase of nuggets and tater tots soon enough, but for now it's nice being able to share dinner with him.
